- Advise and counsel undergraduate ASL majors, as well as graduate majors in master's and doctoral Deaf Studies programs.
- teach undergraduate, master's, and doctoral courses within the Department, as the program mandates.
- serve on departmental, college, and university committees, as necessary.
- conduct research, scholarly activities, and grant writing to meet program needs; and 5) meet other day-to-day responsibilities of the faculty position as necessary.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned doctoral degree in Deaf Education, American Sign Language, or a closely related field. ABDs or close to ABD may be considered?
Desired Qualifications:
- Native or near-native ASL fluency
- University teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of Deaf culture, and extensive personal and professional experiences within the Deaf community
- Knowledge regarding curriculum and instruction for post-secondary learners
- Demonstrated teaching, research, and publication skills
