Responsibilities
The Department of Political Science in the Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Midwestern State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer to begin in Fall 2026.
As a faculty member in the Department of Political Science, you will be expected to:
  1. Teach 12 credit hours/4courses of American national government and Texas government each semester
  2. Teach in-person and online courses
  3. Communicate and meet with students
  4. Assist with departmental needs
  5. Maintain a regular presence on campus

Requirements
Required Qualifications Include:
1. MA in Political Science
2. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
  1. PhD (ABD accepted) in Political Science.
  2. Commitment to undergraduate education.
  3. Experience teaching courses in American national government and/or Texas government.
  4. Experience teaching in-person courses.
  5. Experience teaching online courses.

Requires the ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Must adhere to University's core values: People-Centered, Community, Integrity, Visionary, and Connections, per the MSU Texas Values Journey. Personal cell phone usage may be required to complete position duties, including multi-function authentication requirements. Regular reliable attendance is required.
