Join Our Team as an Infectious Disease Physician
We are a well-established and successful private practice located in Chicago, IL, comprised of four board-certified Infectious Disease specialists. We are currently looking for a board-eligible (BE) or board-certified (BC) Infectious Disease physician to become a part of our team at Infectious Disease Consultants, Ltd.
Our practice is situated on the North side of Chicago, where we are affiliated with three hospitals: Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, Swedish Hospital, and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Our focus is entirely on clinical infectious disease, and we have a partnership with the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, offering an optional clinical faculty appointment. Additionally, we have teaching collaborations with both Northwestern Lake Forest and Swedish Hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inpatient consultations and clinical rounds.
- Manage outpatient clinic services, including HIV care.
- Oversee outpatient parenteral IV antibiotic therapy (OPAT).
- Engage in Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention programs at Lake Forest and Swedish Hospitals.
- Collaborate with two Infectious Disease pharmacists and microbiology/molecular biology labs at both hospitals.
- Participate in resident education at Swedish and Lake Forest Hospitals.
Our practice does not involve long-term acute care hospitals (LTACHs) or skilled nursing facilities, allowing us to focus solely on inpatient consultations and outpatient referrals. Work Schedule
- Weekend call rotation: 1:2 to 1:3
- Vacation: 6 weeks plus 1 week for Continuing Medical Education (CME)
- Outpatient clinic: 1-2 half days per week
Application Requirements
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in Internal Medicine (IM) and successful or pending completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Infectious Diseases (ID) Fellowship.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases (ID) by ABIM or AOBIM.
- Possession of a valid (or pending) Illinois state medical license (MD/DO).
- Possession of a valid (or pending) DEA License.
- Possession of a valid (or pending) Illinois Controlled Substance License.
- Currently, we are unable to sponsor H-1B or J-1 visas.
