Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The undergraduate lab assistant will assist Exercise & Sport Science faculty with laboratory supervision, fitness assessment, and research.
*Bob Jones University students only*

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists Exercise Science faculty with human subject research-related tasks
  • Coordinate lab scheduling with either the Human Performance Lab or the Fitness & Wellness Lab
  • Conducts health, fitness and performance testing for BJU faculty, staff, students and residents of Greenville community
  • Instructs and supervises students in the appropriate usage of common laboratory equipment and tests in the Human Performance Laboratory (HPL)
  • Conducts community engaged work such as Fall Prevention program and Exercise is Medicine On Campus
  • Identifies, communicates, and rectifies laboratory maintenance concerns

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Currently enrolled as a student at BJU in the Kinesiology or Personal Training program
  • Students in Health Sciences, pre-med, pre-PA, Public Health programs considered
  • Must be a good communicator and demonstrate a strong work ethic
  • Clearly demonstrate leadership and/or collaborative skills

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:  Adult CPR & AED
