Now Hiring – EHS Coordinator / Quality Technician

We are currently looking for an EHS Coordinator / Quality Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in environmental health and safety (EHS), quality control, and automotive manufacturing who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.

Position Summary

The EHS Coordinator / Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring workplace safety, environmental compliance, and product quality throughout the manufacturing facility. This role supports safety programs, conducts quality inspections and audits, investigates incidents, analyzes root causes, and works closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and management teams to drive continuous improvement.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM-Must be flexible

Key Responsibilities

Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, local, and company EHS regulations.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits across all production shifts.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, near misses, and safety concerns.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, and EHS documentation.
  • Coordinate employee safety training and new hire safety orientation.
  • Lead safety committee meetings and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and risk assessments.
  • Monitor emergency response equipment and procedures.
  • Oversee hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety policies.
  • Support workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
  • Track and report EHS metrics, trends, and compliance data.

Quality Technician Responsibilities

  • Perform product and process audits in accordance with customer and internal quality requirements.
  • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauges, and CMM reports.
  • Verify compliance with quality standards, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Investigate internal quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Support root cause analysis using:
    • 8D
    • 5 Whys
    • Fishbone Diagram
    • PFMEA
  • Assist with corrective and preventive actions to improve quality performance.
  • Monitor scrap, rework, and defect trends.
  • Maintain quality records and inspection documentation.
  • Support customer and third-party audits.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Support EHS and quality initiatives across all production shifts.
  • Coordinate communication between first, second, and third-shift supervisors.
  • Assist with new product launches, process changes, and equipment installations.
  • Support Layered Process Audits (LPA).
  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Human Resources, and Management.
  • Participate in plant-wide continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Quality, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance.
  • Experience with automotive quality systems and inspection methods.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards preferred.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • SAP experience is preferred.
