About this Position
Pinyon is seeking an experienced Air Quality Specialist that can support several markets and projects that deal with air quality permitting and compliance for a variety of clients in the oil and gas, commercial/industrial, transportation, and local/federal government market sectors. The candidate will also have the opportunity to assist with noise analyses for similar clients.
Responsibilities
  • Task management including client interaction during air quality projects, and responsibility for oversight of high-quality deliverables
  • Development of air permit applications for federal and state agencies, including responsibility for strategy and quality review
  • State and federal regulatory review, and application of those regulations to specific client situations
  • Compliance recordkeeping and reporting based on permit conditions
  • Greenhouse gas and state inventory reporting
  • Assistance with delegation to entry-level air quality personnel as part of task management responsibilities
  • Support air quality proposal development and client marketing efforts as needed
  • Transportation conformity analyses, including conducting evaluations per DOT and FHWA protocols

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 4-8 years in Air Quality-related professional services; candidates with more or less relevant experience are encouraged to apply
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Preferred experience with emissions and impacts models such as ProMax, AERMOD, and MOVES
  • Experience and knowledge with federal or state regulations review
  • Self-driven with the ability to oversee and complete multiple projects simultaneously, requiring minimal supervision
  • Critical thinker and problem solver that can work in a dynamic group environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly with technical writing
