Job description

Make a difference for patients every day in our state-of-the-art centralized compounding lab. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team dedicated to producing high-quality pharmaceutical products in a supportive, professional environment.

Requirements for Compound Pharmacy Technician:

*This is an in-person role. Candidates must reside in the greater Austin area.*

  • Must have active registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Technician or Trainee (required)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Efficient data entry skills
  • Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology
  • At least six months pharmacy technician experience preferred
  • Flexible schedule, available to work variable shifts including Saturdays
  • Able to lift up to 25+lbs
  • Able to stand for 8 hours

Compensation and Benefits for Compound Pharmacy Technician:

  • $17.00–$22.00/hour (based on certification level and relevant experience)

Responsibilities for Compound Pharmacy Technician:

  • Compound medications per SOP and regulatory compliance standards
  • Receive written and electronic prescriptions or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
  • Enter and maintain prescription data using pharmacy software system
  • Answer incoming phone calls and field patient questions
  • Contact doctor’s offices or hospitals to clarify prescription information and initiate refill requests
  • Resolution of prescription insurance claims
  • Assist the pharmacist with packaging medications and affixing proper labels
  • Maintain the ongoing medication inventory and place medication orders when instructed
