Pharmacy Procurement Technician

We're hiring a Pharmacy Procurement Technician to support New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC
The Pharmacy Procurement Technician serves as a part of the healthcare team at Novant Health and collaborates with other team members, to provide optimal care. The Technician accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.
What You'll Do
Are you ready to be a vital part of a healthcare team where your work truly makes a difference with a pharmacy team who will deliver remarkable care that is patient-centric and purpose-driven through teamwork and joy. As a Pharmacy Procurement Technician, you'll:
  • Manage daily processing & filing of purchase orders and invoices
  • Update product and cost info in our Pharmacy charging system
  • Operate and maintain unit dose packaging machines
  • Assist with extemporaneous compounding under pharmacist supervision
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to provide optimal patient care

What We're Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Experience: Two years relevant experience, required.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of Pharmacy, required.
    • PTCB or NHA Certification within 60 days of hire, required.
    • 340B University Education Program completion (or within 90 days of hire), required.
  • Additional Skills Required:
    • State Registration and/or evidence of renewal is required for both Pharmacists and Technicians fifteen days prior to expiration and Technicians are required to be either certified through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), National Healthcareer Association (NHA) .
    • Considerable knowledge and application of basic math skills, including ratio and proportion relationships; strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Basic technology skills. Other duties as outline in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
  • Additional Skills Preferred: Auditing skills, accounting skills, microsoft office skills.
