Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician will prepare, package, document, label, and deliver or prepare for delivery drug products with an emphasis on infusion drugs under the direct technical supervision of the Pharmacist. Performs all required data entry, documentation, and filing associated with the drug preparation and distribution process and performs functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control procedures. The Pharmacy Technician will participate in the Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects/programs and collect data for workload measurements as needed or required. This position may require participation in training and orienting new employees and/or pharmacy interns
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Must be able to demonstrate proper aseptic compounding techniques
  • Minimum one year full-time relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • California Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration License or Pharmacy Intern Registration Certificate in good standing.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • 1+ year experience in admixing sterile drugs

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with hazardous drugs
  • Previous experience utilizing automated dispensing cabinets and/or EPIC, electronic health record.
  • Minimum 2 years in a pharmacy performing sterile compounding. Possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties, including conceptual knowledge of USP797, USP800, and use of closed-system transfer devices.
  • Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
