Inova Health is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Intern to join the team. This role will be PRN various shifts. Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) or every third weekend (Saturday/Sunday) plus an additional weekday every three weeks.

Pharmacy Intern Job Responsibilities:

Under the Pharmacist supervision:

  • Performs all aspects of medication distribution.
  • Manages medication inventory.
  • Maintains Automated Dispensing Machine.
  • Performs monthly pharmacy inspections per policies/procedures.
  • Participate in patient care.
  • Participates in department quality improvements projects.
  • Developing skills and knowledge base necessary to practice as a pharmacist.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School or GED and enrolled in Pharmacy School. 

  • Licensure: State of Virginia Pharmacy Technician license or a Pharmacy Intern license.

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Maintain a Pharmacy School GPA  3.0. 

  • Career Goal: Health system residency program following graduation.

  • Program Duration: Continue in role until Pharmacy School graduation.
