Get to Know Your Team: 

  • Lovelace Medical Center (LMC), in the heart of Albuquerque, is an acute care hospital providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology and oncology services. LMC recently acquired New Mexico’s first Intuitive da Vinci 5 ® surgical system, demonstrating its commitment to the most advanced technology available in minimally invasive surgery. LMC has 263 licensed beds.

Responsibilities

The director of pharmacy plans, organizes, controls, and supervises activities in hospital pharmacy according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and State and Federal laws. Recommends innovations in the practice and function of the hospital pharmacy to Administration and carries out mutually agreed upon programs and corporate initiatives. In addition the director of pharmacy should provide support, mentoring, and oversight of the activities of the clinical pharmacists and supportive personnel on staff.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • 3+ year’s hospital pharmacy experience with 2+ year’s supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Other applicable state requirements – i.e. sterile compounding, etc.
  • BLS certification.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the legal responsibilities of the pharmacist to the facility and all state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office applications, Electronic Medical Record Systems.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
  • 5+ year’s hospital pharmacy experience.
  • ALS/ACLS certification. (Required if attending Code Blue).
