Job description

The role of the Production Technician Lead:

The Production Technician Team Lead is responsible under the Supervisorโ€™s direction for directing the packaging technicians to repack all the repackaging units. This position assures good product flow in assisting label checking and verification in finished products. Also generates reports as required by the supervisor.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Identifies attendance and performance issues to the Supervisor and is able to administrate progressive discipline counseling.
  • Traces daily requirements and assures the completion based on current priorities.
  • Assists in moving packaging personnel as required to balance the line production to assure maximum products are finished and shipped daily.
  • Occasionally operates the equipment in their department, to assure the daily production requirements are met.
  • With the Supervisorโ€™s assistance, assures the repackaging area meets OSHA requirements and occupational accidents are reported in a timely fashion.
  • Provide necessary information to Supervisor on packaging performance and other information important to the success of the department.
  • Maintain adequate supplies needed in the work area.
  • Cross trains employees and assist the newly hired employees to meet the performance requirements of that job.
  • Assure employees are following the operating procedures and meeting cGMP requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician, pharmaceutical packaging, in-hospital pharmacy or healthcare industry preferred
  • Certified Pharmaceutical Technician desired
  • High School Degree/GED required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows
  • Working knowledge of mechanical packaging equipment
  • Good organizational skills, accurate, reliable, and efficient
