ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains an understanding of the production schedule for each shift and how it influences the work to be done
  • Understands the packaging equipment being used and how to adjust when needed. Identifies defects quickly and makes adjustments immediately
  • Responsible for the operation, packing and quality of the machine
  • Ensure machine is set up properly
  • Set up Ishida scales, turn on computer and zero scale, program net weights, set/adjust vibrators, and adjust for proper piece count
  • Manages changeovers quickly and assures that the production line continues to run smoothly and efficiently with no unnecessary delays
  • Work closely with Packers to troubleshoot and keep machines up and running efficiently
  • Clean machines as appropriate, and uses equipment effectively assuring that it remains in good working order
  • General operation: loading bagging material, sleeves, RSC, and glue; trouble shoot during operation; calculate amount of product required to finish order; control waste; attain maximum output/efficiency
  • Fully responsible for following batch record and completing reports accurately. Fully responsible for the quality of the finished product, i.e. correct weights, correct bagging material, packing, shrink wrapping, ticketing, lot number coding and the correct product for the bag
  • Follow SCN BestCo's LOTO Policy and procedures to ensure that machines or equipment are isolated from all potentially hazardous energy before performing cleaning, service or maintenance activities where they may be an unexpected energization, start-up, or release of stored energy
  • Setting and observation of case weight checker
  • Mix assorted flavors accurately and run out evenly
  • Complete 15-minute inspections of finished product and record details immediately
  • Totally responsible for ensuring the maximum output, efficiency and productivity
  • Requisition materials ahead of production and return unused materials

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1-year of Machine operator experience outside of SCN Bestco Inc. or 3 months working as a machine operator at SCN Bestco or a Certified Production Technician through NCMI.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be open to work any shift that is necessary depending on the business needs
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Basic computer knowledge (must be able to log on and complete required cGMP SOP training and email
  • Basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide and make fine adjustments in equipment settings
  • Effective and clear written /oral communication skills fluent in English to clearly communicate with other team members

  • More than one year of Packaging Operator experience
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Prior Manufacturing experience
  • FDA experience
