Job description

Import/Export Specialist – Pharma (Onsite- New Brunswick, NJ)

We are seeking an Import/Export Specialist for our global pharmaceutical client. The focus of the role is to support domestic and global shipment logistics for the Reference Standard and Critical Reagent (RSCR) Group within the Global Product Development & Supply / Global Quality organization. Primary role will be to support numerous aspects of shipping logistics/coordination and related shipping data management within the RSCR Operations group

This is a 40-hour per-week, 12-month contract (extensions possible), 100% onsite role at the client’s office in New Brunswick, NJ.

This is a W2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and a 401K are offered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides operational and logistical support for international shipments, including preparation of shipping documentation, coordination of international regulatory and customs paperwork, and end‑to‑end tracking of shipment readiness from document initiation through shipment greenlight. Partners closely with cross‑functional stakeholders—including laboratory teams, project managers, external vendors, and Quality Assurance—to ensure clear communication, alignment to business priorities, and timely execution of deliverables supporting clinical and commercial programs.

  • Maintaining a working understanding of how materials are prepared for shipment, including selecting appropriate containers, determining shipping temperature requirements, conditioning materials, and applying proper packing techniques for international shipments. The individual will manage outbound logistical activities, including order consolidation, to support timely and compliant material distribution.

  • Success in this role requires the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment with changing priorities, demonstrate strong attention to detail and data integrity, and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, systems, and team culture through collaboration, accountability, and adherence to client’s values.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3–7 years of experience in a shipping logistics environment (specifically scientific, not industrial). Hazmat Shipping Certification in shipping Hazardous Material is a must.

  • Experience supporting domestic and international shipment logistics, including preparation of shipping documentation, coordination of customs and regulatory requirements, and end‑to‑end tracking of shipment readiness.

  • Working knowledge of material shipment preparation, including container selection, temperature control, conditioning methods, packing techniques, and order consolidation to support compliant distribution. Preferably experience with shipping pharmaceutical and biologics material (no blood, pathogens or body fluids—we only ship reference standards for testing other materials). Broad experience in cold chain shipments for use in GxP laboratory environments.

  • Exposure to regulated environments (GMP, GLP, or comparable academic or industry standards) preferred; demonstrated attention for detail and documentation accuracy.

  • Basic experience with inventory management, sample tracking, or data entry systems; familiarity with electronic documentation systems, LIMS, or similar data tools is a plus

  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience required or BS/BA or Masters in logistics, procurement, supply chain, biological sciences, chemistry, engineering or related disciplines.
