Air Logistics Gateway Operations Specialist

As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. An Air Logistics Gateway Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating air freight shipments at gateway locations, ensuring smooth import and export operations. The role focuses on shipment processing, documentation, and compliance while maintaining efficient communication between carriers, warehouses, and customers to meet delivery timelines and service standards.
5 Day work week. Processing of MAWB consolidations, responsible for set trade-lanes encompassing all aspects of the ATA process. Preferably operational experience in the air freight industry including but not limited to prior experience with warehousing/ airline/ GHA/ freight forwarder Air Export Gateway operations.
How you create impact
  • Provide excellent customer service and on-going commitment to quality and data integrity
  • Prepare, handle and process documentation needed for air export consolidations
  • Interact and collaborate closely with the air export departments in the region
  • Arrange bookings with carriers; optimize cargo consolidations
  • Ensure timely processing and delivery to the airport; constant communication with the warehouse team and truck dispatch during the consolidation process
  • Track & trace shipments; monitor vendor performance; address and resolve service irregularities
  • Contribute to maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal customers
  • Maintain compliance standards at all times, including internal policies and procedures, external government regulations and customer requirements
  • Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) to support department, branch, product and company goals
  • Responsible for daily updating and monitoring of reporting tools
  • Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency
  • Support pricing team on rate quotes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Adherence to internal healthcare guidelines, procedures and minimum requirements as defined in Global Quality
  • Ensure training compliance as per defined training matrix (yourself + team, as applicable).
  • Maintain basic GxP awareness (requirements and applicable guidelines, e.g.. WHO GSDP, EU, GDP, etc.)
  • Coordinating and supporting of quality matters related to KN's Products SecureChain and Semicon.
