Job description

Waialae Country Club is a private membership club, which provides its members with a championship golf course, dining services, health/recreational facilities, and hosts the PGA Tour's Sony Open in Hawaii. Waialae Country Club is recognized as a Platinum Club of America, Honorable Mention Platinum Club of the World, and is designated as a Distinguished Club with ELITE status by BoardRoom Magazine.

Position: Golf Shop Assistant
Status:
Part-Time (20-29 hours per week)

Golf Pro Shop
Reports to:
First Assistant Golf Professional
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides excellent service by engaging with members/guests and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Assists members at the counter and over the phone with inquiries and booking tee times.
  • Operates point of sale system and receives and processes payments.
  • Advises members and guests about attire and playing privileges of the various membership classifications.
  • Takes messages for members who may be on the course.
  • Maintains effective communication with staff and management.
  • Operates a handheld radio maintaining communication with staff.
  • Raises flags each morning. 
  • Maintains records for lost/found clubs. 
  • Maintains the water and coffee service area.
  • Maintains familiarity with retail products, and assists Retail when needed.

Requirements:
  • 3-6 months of related experience. 
  • Ability to perform general administrative duties including filing, taking messages, and data entry.
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, email, USGA GHIN software, and tee sheet/GPS software.
  • Must have an unexpired Driver's License.
  • Must be able to drive a golf cart and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Must be available to work on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
