Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide support in developing robust B cell screening platform within GBT leveraging GBT's Biotherapeutic expertise for the Vaccine group to isolate pathogen specific monoclonal antibodies directly from donor individuals. By mining convalescent donor B cell repertoire using single cell culture and screening, we will learn how native humoral responses interact with pathogen. The platform is in early development and required further optimization. The incumbent, under the supervision by Pfizer Scientist, will be involved in the development and optimization of the platform and will develop appropriate assays in further increasing efficiency in identifying specific monoclonal antibodies against various pathogens 

Develop and optimize single B cell culture condition and screening protocol for pathogen specific antigens 

Develop and optimize single B cell IgG cloning condition 

Express and purify antigen vaccine antigen specific monoclonal antibodies 

Develop assays to further confirm functionality of isolated monoclonal antibodies

Qualifications

Knowledge and work experience in the single B cell culture 

Knowledge and work experience in human Ig cloning from single B cell 

Knowledge and work experience in screening and functional assay development for selecting specific monoclonal antibodies in the area of microbiology or virology 

Work experience in NGS of Ig repertoire 

Relevant industrial experience is preferred.

BS/MS degree with immunology or biotechnology with a minimum of 4-7 years' of experience in Assay studies
