As a Legal Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our attorneys and paralegals, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. You'll manage the preparation of legal documents, handle office communication, and coordinate meetings to keep our team on track. Compensation:

$20 - $23 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Help with creating a variety of litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when necessary
  • Process client billing properly using daily time records with help from the accounting department
  • Perform legal research, as needed, with help from attorneys and paralegals
  • Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines
  • Make travel arrangements, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events

Qualifications:
  • At least 1-2 years of previous experience in a law firm setting performing administrative tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times
  • Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs
  • Organizational skills and communication skills are necessary for this position
  • Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products
  • Experience in a law firm environment, demonstrating familiarity with legal procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to create and proofread a variety of litigation documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Proven track record of managing office correspondence and administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Skill in processing client billing with precision, collaborating with the accounting department as needed.
  • Capability to perform legal research, supporting attorneys and paralegals in case preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, opposing attorney offices, and vendors effectively.
