Responsible for the filing process of new Child in Need of Care (CINC) cases within the Office of the District Attorney.  Drafts various legal documents related to CINC cases and provides support to attorneys as needed.

Conducts filing appointment for new CINC cases

  • Reviews all reports and documentation prior to appointment
  • Meets with social worker to obtain all necessary information to support the filing of a CINC petition
  • Meets with Judge and social worker to secure judge's approval and signature on Ex Parte Order for removal of children from the home

Drafts CINC petition and associated documents

  • Reviews various reports and documents to compile necessary information for petition
  • Summarizes pertinent information from various sources and drafts petition
  • Makes revisions to the petition as requested by the assigned attorney
  • Completes final draft of petition and files with the court within the mandated time limit

Drafts motions for termination of parental rights

  • Compiles information from various sources
  • Summarizes all pertinent information within the motion
  • Works within directives of the assigned attorney
  • Files motion with the court

Minimum Qualifications: Three (3) years of experience in the legal field or any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities of the position. Bachelor's degree in sociology, psychology, criminal justice or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
