Come join the mission of Catholic education and consider joining our amazing educators throughout the Los Angeles region. Job Summary Job Summary The Learning Success Coach (LSC) is a central member of St.

Bernard College Preparatory's Scholars Performance Academy (SPA), an innovative 6th-8th grade model designed for motivated middle school students who want more than a traditional classroom. SPA combines a personalized, hybrid, competency-based academic program-designed in collaboration with Arizona State University and grounded in the ASU Prep Digital+ model-with project-based learning, real-time data, targeted intervention, and a daily Performance Development Block in athletics ('26), music (coming in '27), gaming (coming in '27), and related pathways. Rooted in SBCP's Catholic mission, SPA is designed to help students grow academically, socially, spiritually, and personally.

In this model, the LSC helps make personalization real. LSCs work closely with the Lead Teacher to monitor student progress, interpret platform data, provide direct academic support, facilitate small-group and one-on-one learning, strengthen executive-functioning skills, and keep students connected, motivated, and moving toward mastery. Because SPA depends on strong relationships, the LSC role requires far more than supervision or tutoring.

Engagement, rapport, energy, warmth, humor, and genuine passion for adolescents are essential. Successful LSCs know how to build trust quickly, make students feel known, challenge them with care, and bring the kind of daily enthusiasm that helps middle school students stay focused, resilient, and excited about learning. We are seeking intelligent, engaging, passionate individuals considering a career in education who want meaningful, hands-on experience in an innovative school model.

We are also seeking experienced middle school educators who fit this description and are looking for a different, more personalized, and relational approach to teaching and learning.
