SALARY DESCRIPTION:

  • $24.00 - $40.00 per session hour trained (varies by session length and value)
  • $16.90 per hour for non-session work time
  • + Ability to earn additional incentive compensation

JOB SUMMARY:

Certified Personal Trainers support members in meeting their personal fitness and exercise goals by executing the training experience. These team members are passionate about fitness and committed to creating a great member experience.

The Certified Personal Trainer works with the Fitness Manager and General Manager to deliver the business brand, member experience and business goals through the following:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Meets sales and service goals by facilitating personal training sessions, small group training sessions, or team training sessions
  • Provides excellent customer service to members through completion of new member programs, and follows-up with member to ensure that all expectations have been met and exceeded
  • Achieves Personal Training revenue goals through self-promotion, lead based consultations, and departmental activities
  • Sales of personal training packages to contribute to achieving monthly targets
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource of fitness and nutrition information or education for members
  • Schedule personal training sessions with members and service the sessions
  • Maintains an open line of communication with management and fellow team members on all aspects of facility and training procedures
  • Attends all mandatory meetings as directed
  • Responsible for communicating and upholding company standards by ensuring club is clean, safe, fun, and welcoming.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS - WHO YOU ARE:

  • Passion for fitness/health/wellness
  • Current Personal Training certification from an approved accredited program required* (*Four year or advanced degree in related field may be submitted in lieu of personal training certificate)
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work professionally and effectively with people at all levels of the organization with physical locations spread throughout the portfolio
  • Ability to work with interruptions, changing priorities and a busy work environment with tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated with high energy with a positive attitude
  • Self-managing with the ability to work independently to accomplish tasks
  • Displays good judgment, confidentiality and diplomacy in handling important company information and communicating with others
  • CPR/AED certification required first 30 days of hire
  • High regard and propensity for safety

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours/day and/or sitting for extended period of time. Employees may be exposed to cleaning chemicals or airborne particles and will be required to wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as directed. Employees are occasionally required to use hands and fingers for handle or feel; frequently reach, push and pulling with arms and hands and crawling; frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting, including side-to-side movements. The employee may be required to frequently lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds.
