We are seeking motivated and hardworking Trash Helpers who take pride in making a positive impact on our communities by ensuring the safe and efficient removal of waste. Position Overview: As a Trash Helper at Hometown, you will work closely with the truck driver to assist with picking up and disposing of trash and recyclables from various locations. You will be responsible for safely operating equipment and helping with the loading and unloading of waste in various truck models, including Rear Load, Front Load, and Roll-Off garbage trucks. This physically demanding role requires heavy lifting, walking, and climbing in and out of the truck while working in a variety of weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently assist the driver in picking up trash and disposing of it in the truck.
  • Operate lever hand controls for hydraulic machinery when needed.
  • Assist the driver with backing up the truck in tight spaces or difficult environments.
  • Perform heavy lifting and assist with sorting and loading materials.
  • Navigate through streets, alleyways, highways, and construction sites.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure proper disposal of trash and recyclables in the truck’s designated areas.
  • Maintain truck cleanliness and ensure all operations are performed in compliance with GME’s safety standards.
