What is a personal assistant?

The job of a personal assistant is to meet the needs of the client. Personal assistants can work in a business context, assist with personal tasks, or help with a combination of both business and personal tasks. A personal assistant may be required to make phone calls, write emails, organize schedules, run errands, and make appointments. Job duties may also include making travel arrangements, completing expense reporting, acting as a liaison with other staff, and managing special projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a personal assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Personal Assistant, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in managing schedules, travel, and correspondence, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Part-Time Household Assistant / Home Manager - Incline Village at Private Household We are looking for a reliable, organized, and proactive part-time household assistant to help manage our home in Incline Village. This is a great position for someone who is responsible, detail-oriented, enjoys organizing and getting things done, and is comfortable working independently. Prior household management experience is helpful but not required. We care most about finding someone trustworthy, capable, communicative, and willing to take initiative. Responsibilities may include: - Running local errands and picking up household items - Receiving and managing deliveries - Grocery shopping and keeping the home stocked - Tidying, organizing, and helping maintain household systems - Coordinating with housekeepers, maintenance providers, and other vendors - Being available to let vendors into the home when needed - Keeping an eye on the house when we are away and flagging anything that needs attention - Light outdoor tasks and occasional simple household projects - Helping prepare the home before our arrival and reset things after our departure - Other miscellaneous household and personal assistant tasks as needed We split our time between Incline Village and Southern California, so the schedule can be flexible. We anticipate approximately 20-30 hours per week to start, with more hours available during the weeks we are in Tahoe and fewer hours when we are away. The ideal person lives locally or nearby, has reliable transportation, communicates well by text, and is comfortable taking ownership of a task without needing a lot of direction. This could be an excellent fit for a responsible college student, graduate student, or local professional looking for flexible part-time work. Please reply with a little about yourself, your availability, relevant work experience, and why you think you would be a good fit. References will be requested. Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
