Job Summary

The Environmental Permitting Specialist will work on various gas and electric projects helping support them on the environmental permitting side.  This person will work on wetland delineations, preparing environmental permitting packages for submittals to NJDEP & PADEP for various types of permits and submit for road opening and PENNDOT permits.


Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters to deliver the most cost effective and highest quality infrastructure solutions.
  • Performing wetland delineations work and GPS survey of flagging.
  • Preparing wetland data forms, wetland reports and wetland impact plans.
  • Preparing erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Environmental Impact Statements.
  • Aiding in pulling together environmental permitting packages for CAFRA, WD, Freshwater & Coastal Wetland Impacts, ACOE, Tidelands
  • Familiarity with NJDEP and PADEP environmental regulations and submittal requirements.
  • Preparing PENNDOT permitting packages.
  • Submitting PA1 call tickets  
  • Willing to learn other aspects of the business.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent related experience with civil engineering or environmental permitting efforts.
  • 2 years of experience with AutoCAD in the Civil and or Environmental Engineering environment.
  • 2 years minimum experience in the Civil and or Environmental Engineering industry.
  • Experience with environmental permitting regulations in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook required.
  • Regional travel required, as needed for the job.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for up to the past 5 years.

 

Preferred

  • NJDEP environmental permitting experience.
  • PADEP environmental permitting experience
  • Prior experience with civil 3D.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment.
