Job description

As the VP of Operations you hold leadership oversight for all Manufacturing Operations and support functions and meet objectives including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and team member engagement


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct the day to day plant operations for  production and its various components, ensuring compliance with all company, local, state and federal policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning to ensure production goals are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Review and interpret financial and operating information.
  • Focus on process and operational consistency to reduce cost and improve performance. Ensures operations processes and policies are communicated and adhered to.
  • Work with Executive team to develop and execute the strategic plan for division and maximize growth and profitability of business.
  • Improve and create strong infrastructure and protocols so that communication and workflow between individuals and departments are seamless.
  • Ensure production and labor planning is two weeks out and adjusted as needed to volumes.
  • Build a strong internal bench strength and develops a robust external pipeline to meet staffing needs.
  • Identify, outline and drive process excellence throughout production facility; develop and implement performance metrics and goals to assess individual and team performance levels, shares and utilizes proven best practices.
  • Regularly monitor performance to identify and respond to deficiencies that impact customer service and satisfaction.
  • Actively develop top performers and utilizes established performance management guidelines to address performance issues.
  • Develop, train and coach associates engaged in the business for future career advancement.
  • Assist in development of training materials to support the production functions. Trains new and existing associates on proper processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • 9+ years of Production Leadership experience including proven strategic acumen, change management and process improvement.
  • Proven track record of operations excellence and utilization of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Highly motivated, hands-on, results driven professional who can thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Problem solver, decisive and results oriented leader with a high sense of urgency.
