Job description

The Shop Technician is responsible for assembly, disassembly, and reassembly of general equipment. The Shop Technician will operate the required tools for the disassembly and assembly of equipment and utilize various M&TE (micrometers, calipers, etc..) for the inspection of the equipment used in solids control.

The Shop Technician 1 will report directly to the Shop Manager (SM). Work Hours are 7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime available, and some weekends and holidays required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assemble and prepare equipment for installation and service.
  • Assist the SM with: packing, wrapping, loading, and unloading of deliveries.
  • Operating hot-water pressure washer to clean equipment, as required.
  • Assist in facility projects including: moving items, packing boxes, cleaning, trash removal, etc.
  • Assist other shop team members with equipment installation, service, cleaning.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Loading and unloading equipment on trailers for shipment to job sites.
  • Installation, and verification, of required S3S decals prior to equipment shipping.
  • Responsible for requesting tools, supplies, and fixtures needed for their work duties.
  • May be required to work in other locations from time to time.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to use and comprehend a variety of power hand tools and inspection tools.
  • Ability to operate equipment including Front end loaders, Forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Must be able to read and write in English fluently.
  • Must have manual dexterity. Control precision.
  • Critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 22.68 Kg (50 lbs).
  • Power washing equipment.
  • Tools will be provided to perform the work.
  • Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and rebuild various types of equipment (pumps).
  • Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures for assembly and disassembly.
  • Operate manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools.
  • Ability to utilize all M&TE (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Must be reliable and accountable to complete work.
  • Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Visual acuity, Grasping, Hand and finger movement, crouching, twisting, talking, hearing, physical and cardiovascular exertion.

Minimum Required Education, Credentials, Licenses and Experience:

  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • 18+ years of age.
  • 2 year Technical Degree or an Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a warehouse, desired.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
