Job description

Are you passionate about designing cutting-edge RF integrated circuits for next-generation wireless systems? At Falcomm, we are transforming innovative semiconductor research into real-world solutions through high-performance, energy-efficient RF power amplifier technologies. Our mission is to enable faster, more efficient wireless communication by pushing the boundaries of RF semiconductor design.

Falcomm is seeking RFIC/MMIC Designers to develop high-frequency circuit blocks used in advanced RF front-end systems. This role will focus on the design and optimization of RF and mmWave circuits including mixers, low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), power amplifiers (PAs), switches, and voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs). The position requires close collaboration with system architects, layout engineers, packaging teams, and test engineers to deliver high-performance semiconductor solutions from concept through silicon validation.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop RF and mmWave circuit blocks for wireless applications using technologies such as GaN, SOI, and SiGe. Relevant circuit blocks would include LNAs, PAs, switches, mixers, and VCOs.
  • Evaluate design trade-offs across performance, power consumption, and chip area.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organization, demonstrating problem-solving skills, data analysis, and critical thinking.
  • Present detailed design reviews covering IC, package, electromagnetic (EM), simulation results, measurement data, and thermal considerations; all related to continuous improvement of RF design processes.
  • Support all stages of product development, from concept to mass production.

Requirements

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in RF or mmWave circuit design up to 60GHz.
  • IC tapeout experience using SOI, SiGe, or GaN technologies.
  • Strong understanding of RF circuit theory and semiconductor device behavior.
  • Strong circuit design skills, and experience performing analysis and simulation of both linear and non-linear circuits for RF circuit blocks to meet performance targets such as gain, noise figure, linearity, power, and bandwidth.
  • Strong EM knowledge with including experience with passive components including couplers, baluns, and matching networks.
  • Proficiency in simulation and design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Keysight ADS, Keysight SystemVue, Siemens Calibre, etc.
  • Experience with EM simulators such as HFSS, Momentum, and EMX.
  • Must be willing to work full-time, onsite, in Atlanta, GA.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of RF front-end architectures used in wireless communication systems.
  • Experience supporting silicon validation and RF measurement.

Benefits

  • Competitive Salary and Equity Package
  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Sick Leave
