Director of Home Health & Hospice Operations

Role Type: Full-Time, Executive Employee of the Company (Not a temp or contract assignment)

Shift: Day Job

Work Arrangement: On-site (Primary offices in Cranberry and West Mifflin, PA)

Location: Seven Fields, PA 16046

Travel: Regional travel required between regional offices (Cranberry, West Mifflin, Venango County, and Erie, PA). Mileage reimbursement included.

About the Opportunity

This is a permanent, full-time executive career opportunity. If selected, you will be hired directly as a regular employee of the organization we represent. You will be on their payroll and eligible for an executive-level suite of benefits from your start date. This is not a temporary, contract, or "temp-to-hire" role.

Purpose

The Director of Home Health & Hospice Operations provides strategic, hands-on leadership, direction, and clinical administration across a defined Western Pennsylvania region. This executive role is responsible for driving clinical excellence, sustainable service line growth, and exceptional patient outcomes across home health, hospice, and private duty programs. The Director turns clinical, operational, and financial data into actionable performance improvement plans, builds high-performing regional leadership teams, and champions large-scale change management initiatives to ensure strict compliance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic & Operational Leadership: Plan, direct, and evaluate the clinical, fiscal, and regulatory compliance of regional home health and hospice operations.
  • Growth & Innovation: Direct service line growth and program innovation, including the integration of new clinical products, specialty services, and advanced documentation technologies.
  • Fiscal Stewardship: Maintain direct accountability for regional revenue generation, contract optimization, cost containment, and data-driven service utilization models.
  • Quality & Compliance: Interpret, implement, and monitor adherence to state/federal regulations, third-party payer rules, and contract obligations as part of an integrated performance improvement system.
  • Team Development: Partner with Human Resources to recruit, develop, and hold accountable an effective regional leadership team capable of delegating duties and meeting budgetary targets.
  • Executive Collaboration: Build and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels of system leadership, maintaining high visibility and interacting regularly with staff and clinical leaders.
Minimum Essential Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or Business Administration required. (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional Licensure (Must possess at least ONE active, unrestricted Pennsylvania license):
    • Registered Nurse (RN) (NLC Multistate license accepted per regulations)
    • Physical Therapist (PT)
    • Occupational Therapist (OT)
    • Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP with Certificate of Clinical Competence)
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive healthcare administration experience, with a strong preference for leaders from home health or hospice environments.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Proven expertise in analyzing healthcare data, navigating electronic medical records/IT platforms, and interpreting complex regulatory guidelines.
  • Logistics & Compliance: Active Driver’s License, valid automotive insurance, and ability to clear all required background checks (Act 33, Act 34, and OAPSA).
  • Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
