Purpose of Position
The Production Controller plans, coordinates, and aligns resources to support and optimize aircraft maintenance in the NJS Repair Station. The Production Controller places demands for required parts, generates required paperwork and builds executable work packages to provide to the maintenance team.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Receives work scopes from NJA Maintenance Planning; Loads work order in maintenance system; Requests pre-draw parts; Researches and requests other part(s) requirements for inspections such as Service Bulletins and Service Letters. Researches aircraft approved inspection tasks, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, Fleet campaigns and identifies parts and tooling requirements to procure stock for the Repair Station.
Assembles work packages for maintenance crews. Identifies significant planned work scope tasks and communicates action plan to Maintenance Management, i.e., scheduling of vendors to accomplish Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). Prepares and sets-up maintenance work stations prior to aircraft arrival in Columbus, Ohio CMH, including critical path of inspection.
Interfaces with Maintenance Management, Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Control, Materials Management, Engineering Reliability, Quality Control, Vendors and Technicians to plan and coordinate maintenance activities in the NJS Repair Station.
Proactively identifies process improvements and continuously works towards optimizing base maintenance inspections.
Assists in research and preparation for new fleet types and inspections inputting into the NJS Repair Station. Works with Maintenance Management and Technicians to identify additional resources necessary to efficiently complete maintenance activities including part, consumable and tooling requirements. Works with NJA Appearance Standards department to coordinate repair of cabin interior defects. Collects production data and provides reports to Production Control and Maintenance Management.
This position will create, implement and manage detailed project plans to facilitate and support the project strategy and execution phases. Provide planning, administrative, budgetary, and oversight of base maintenance.
Analysis of production data, development of key performance indicators reports, facilitation of strategies to improve Repair Station productivity.
