Location: Toronto, Hybrid

In this role, you'll take ownership of handson development work while helping us keep critical systems running reliably. You'll be involved in everything from writing clean, maintainable Perl code to supporting production environments and collaborating with teams across the business. You'll also play a key part in ensuring our systems evolve in the right direction as we continue to modernize and improve.

A role you will love 

You'll be stepping into a role that sits at the heart of our operational technology. As a Perl Developer at Computershare, you'll help build, maintain, and support the systems that keep our business running day in and day out. You'll work closely with developers, QA, project teams, and technical leads to deliver reliable solutions, keep legacy systems healthy, and ensure our clients experience seamless service. It's a handson role where your problemsolving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate will make a real impact.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining software and databases using Perl and other relevant technologies
  • Reviewing code, writing unit tests, and delivering work within agreed timelines
  • Supporting system testing and UAT, with QA approving your unit tests
  • Investigating technical issues alongside senior team members when needed
  • Preparing documentation for new or updated business and operational processes
  • Tracking your work in our PMO tools and keeping stakeholders updated
  • Participating in a rotating oncall support schedule, including occasional support for other CTS locations

  • Strong Perl development experience with the ability to write clean, reliable, maintainable code
  • Comfort working with legacy applications, understanding how to stabilize, enhance, and support them
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Flexibility, curiosity, and a willingness to learn quickly
  • SQL experience considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Quadient Inspire is considered an asset 
  • Experience with PDF production in a technical or automated workflow

Compensation. The typical base pay range for this role is $75,992 - $94,990
