Schedule
- Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Assignment Details
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 to 48 hours per week
Requirements
- Minimum Experience: 1 year required
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- License: Pending license accepted at submission
- Core Clinical Skills:
- Inpatient hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis care
- Cannulation of AV fistula/graft; tunneled & non-tunneled catheter management
- Management of ESRD/AKI complications (fluid overload, hyperkalemia, hypotension, dysrhythmias)
- Blood product administration and dialysis machine operation
- Familiarity with dialysis equipment
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
- Monitor and assess patients for complications associated with renal failure and dialysis treatment.
- Perform venipuncture and cannulation procedures, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Administer medications and blood products as prescribed during dialysis sessions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures, complications, and preventative measures.
