As a Perioperative Nurse for the U.S. Army, you will care for surgical patients throughout the entire operative procedure; before, during and after. You will be responsible for planning and organizing all nursing services before surgery, supervising the experience for the patient in accordance with the surgical team. As an officer, you will provide support with critical levels of clinical, administrative, safety, educational and research knowledge and background for your patients. Eligibility Requirements
★ Must have a bachelor’s degree in nursing accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or accepted by the National League of Nursing (NLN) (if older degree)
★ Must pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and board certifications
★ Must have current, valid, and unrestricted nursing license
★ To serve Active Duty, must be working full-time as a perioperative nurse for at least 1-year while your application is in review
★ For Army Reserve, must have no less than 6 months experience as an RN within the past year at the time of application review
★ Must complete 66E Perioperative Nursing Course OR request a waiver for documented perioperative nursing experience
★ Must be a U.S. citizen for Active Duty
★ Must have at least a permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve
