Job Description
The Manager, Visual Merchandising (Design) will oversee the design, development, installation, and maintenance of permanent visual merchandising fixtures, with a strong focus on "caselines" environments and Make Up optimization. This role is pivotal in deploying Head Office designs, managing local production, and ensuring brand consistency across all retail doors.
They will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical drawings, managing vendor production, and developing merchandising guidelines. A deep understanding of materials like acrylic, metal, paper, and fabrics, along with knowledge of mechanical engineering, is essential. The role requires strong collaboration with various internal teams, including Marketing, Store Design, Purchasing, and Operations, as well as external retailers to secure merchandising approvals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design, development, installation and maintenance of Visual Merchandising fixtures that will remain permanently in stores (generic and personalized doors). High focus on "caselines" environment.
  • Manage and maintain database of permanent planograms, high focus on Make Up scope as the brand is looking in optimizing this specific axe.
  • Deploy Head Office designs, manage local production.
  • When needed, create renderings, drawings, manage production and installations.
  • Liaise with Central VM team in Paris for approvals or directives.
  • Develop and maintain Retailer relationships. Obtain retailer approvals for merchandising opportunities.
  • Proficient in Sketchup, Illustrator and Photoshop, (any other 3D software is a plus) to create detailed mechanical drawings for vendors, as well as merchandising guidelines for the field for execution.
  • Must have knowledge of mechanical engineering, be well versed in acrylic, metal, papers and fabrics limitations, decorations and other materials.
  • Oversee engineering drawings, provide type-safety artwork and approve pre-production samples and prototypes.
  • Coordinate with the store design team for integration in architecture if needed.
  • Collaborate with purchasing as per protocol.
  • Coordinate with marketing team for business strategy relevance.
  • Liaise with operational team for logistic and guidelines for deployment.
  • Regularly meet with Marketing, Store Design, Purchasing and Central VM team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, industrial, interior design degree or related discipline
  • 5-7 years of Visual Merchandising experience, preferrably in beauty or related industry
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Knowledge in engineering
  • Exhibit a keen ability to be proactive as well as handle a multitude of projects at a time
  • Able to use Adobe suite and Sketchup; 3D preferred
  • Must be a creative and strategic thinker, an 'influencer', a consensus builder, and excellent team player
  • Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment
  • Travel required based on needs of the business
