Job description

Business Title: Lab Technician - Perfume formulation
Position Title: Lab Support Technician II
Division: Consumer Products Services 
Entity: ATL
Location: St. Bernard, OH
Reports to: Onsite Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt
Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.
However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

Position Summary:
The Lab Support Technician II is responsible for accurate and timely formulation and testing of consumer products.  This client-facing role supports completion of the formulation requests of client submitters.

Duties and Responsibilities:
It is everyone's responsibility to live out our Values and Absolutes by Shaping a World of Trust while ensuring responsible progress.
   Compounding perfume oil from client formulas within a given deadline.
   Laundry product making (liquid and solid) with perfume oils for internal client testing.
   Dispensing perfume raw materials for other labs or shipments to other client sites. 
   Running flashpoints on finished perfumes. 
   Weighing dilutions of chemicals or perfumes.
   Product preparation and labeling from client consumer panels. 
   Knowledge of how to access the latest revisions of standards, protocols, and test methods, without direction. 
   Evaluate products submitted for testing for quality / safety issues, with direction from senior staff in a limited scope. 
   Use and verify equipment and instruments and maintain record keeping system for calibration / quality system integrity with direction. 
   Prepares a variety of products for use in testing using prescribed testing methods, following testing standards / specifications, in a limited scope. 
   Completes physical testing of products which includes loading samples, running instruments and recording data 
   Conducts testing or analyzes a variety of consumer products using prescribed methods, following testing standards / specifications appropriate to the sample, in a limited scope and with guidance. 
   Maintain test equipment, supplies, and cleanliness 
   Provide feedback to the N+1 regarding departmental systems, processes and recommendations for improvements and meeting department / quality objectives. 
   Offer problem resolution with N+1, as applicable, for any client issues/questions identified, while aiming for enhancing client satisfaction and improving client relations. 
   Accurately compile and record data. 
   Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in a limited scope. 
   Conduct verbal and written communications with internal clients regarding administrative and technical issues, with direction from N+1. 
   Interpret and apply industry standards within a limited scope and with direction. 
   Peer-peer train other Associates on sample preparation/testing methods and procedures, if requested. 
   Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures. 
   Follows the guidelines set forth in by clients and the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan. 
   Other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload.

Education and Experience:
   Associate's degree in Science
