About the Role

Weโ€™re looking for a System Administrator who enjoys solving complex problems, strengthening infrastructure, and keeping missioncritical systems running at peak performance. In this role, youโ€™ll work with minimal supervision to provision, configure, maintain, and continuously improve our IT environment while ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.

Youโ€™ll play a handson role across Windows, Microsoft 365, virtualization, and Linux systems, collaborating closely with IT teammates and business partners. If youโ€™re proactive, technically curious, and driven by best practices, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Ensure maximum availability, performance, and stability of systems, infrastructure, and applications using proactive monitoring
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated and unresolved issues
  • Perform root cause analysis and partner with incident response teams to implement corrective actions
  • Maintain thorough documentation and ensure complete followthrough on projects
  • Advise on and implement efficiency and performance improvements
  • Manage and test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
  • Respond to data loss incidents and restore systems as needed
  • Collaborate with Network Administrators, System Administrators, and other IT staff on system design and implementation
  • Provide guidance and technical support to internal departments
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot:
    • Windows Server Failover Clusters
    • Microsoft 365 (Azure, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams)
    • Broadcom (VMware) vSphere environments (vCenter, ESXi, vSAN)
    • Omnissa Horizon environments
    • SQL operations and performance
  • Participate in oncall rotation, including after hours and weekends
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Intermediate expertise in Windows Server administration, including:
    • Active Directory & Group Policy
    • SMB shares and NTFS permissions
    • Windows Server Failover Clusters
  • Intermediate expertise with Microsoft 365, including Azure, Intune, Exchange Online, and Teams
  • Intermediate experience with Broadcom (VMware) technologies (vCenter, ESXi, vSAN)
  • Intermediate experience with Omnissa Horizon administration
  • Intermediate expertise in Linux server administration, including:
    • Package management
    • LVM/block device management
    • SELinux
  • Solid understanding of backup concepts, including incremental/reverse incremental chains and GFS backups
  • Familiarity with:
    • SCCM and patch management
    • Windows imaging and WIM file maintenance
    • macOS administration
    • Networking concepts (ARP, DHCP, DNS, subnetting)
    • SQL administration
  • Ability to explain technical solutions to nontechnical stakeholders in a professional, approachable manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
  • Detailoriented mindset with a commitment to best practices
  • Intermediate PowerShell scripting skills
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (or higher)
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (or higher)
    • Omnissa Certified Administrator โ€“ Horizon (or higher)
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or at least 2 years of consecutive experience in a related role

Work Environment & Additional Information

  • Oncall support and flexible hours may be required, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends
  • Occasional overtime may be necessary
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to approximately 40 lbs.
  • Occasional travel to financial centers may be required
