Description
Position Summary Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the hospital.
Position Accountabilities Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety environmental and infection control standards.
Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares and prepares room for new occupant; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms.
Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways and public areas.
Cleans fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and high areas using a ladder.
Removes waste and soiled lines from work area and places in specified bags or containers.
Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
Inspects equipment used in performance of duties for proper functioning; makes minor repairs or adjustments.
Assists in hanging drapes and dividers and takes them down for cleaning.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit care data.
Moves, removes, and relocates furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. as directed.
Sets up chairs and tables, etc. for special events and folds and stores them after the event.
Participates in educational programs and in-service
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
Minimum Education - Less than High School
Preferred Education- High School or equivalent
Preferred Experience- Previous housekeeping experience
