What you will be doing:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the tools and techniques used to maintain, diagnose problems, and repair HVAC/R and associated electrical systems
  • Test and Balance Technicians will study system blueprints, specifications, and performance data to determine the proper configuration and purpose of the system's components, such as motors, pumps, fans, switches, ducts, or pipes.
  • Adjust the system's controls to settings recommended by the vendor, conduct measurement tests, and discuss system malfunctions with system users to isolate problems
  • Test and Balance Technicians conduct HVAC test and balance procedures in either new construction and/or remodel-type projects.
  • They collect and tabulate system test data, make field observations and coordinate closely with other construction trades such as electrical, mechanical, temperature control, and design teams.
  • Job takes offs and job setup, tracking of all instruments for recalibration requirements yearly

What you need for this position:
  • 5+ years of experience - specifically test and balance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • NEBB certification required
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Must be able to work independently
