PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Support machine shop production by maximizing equipment uptime and availability through the development and execution of a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. Provide hands-on training and technical support to maintenance technicians across all machine shop equipment and processes. Coordinate equipment installations, relocations, and upgrades in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and production teams. Support a zero-injury culture by leading all safety initiatives within the maintenance organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and direct all day-to-day activities of the maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations.
  • Monitor equipment performance to verify preventive maintenance programs are adequate, properly executed, and completed according to schedule.
  • Monitor inventory of maintenance parts and supplies; source, requisition, and order repair parts and materials as needed.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with interpreting specifications, blueprints and work orders and oversee all troubleshooting and repair of equipment failures.
  • Coordinate and support contract maintenance and installation work performed by outside vendors.
  • Maintain all business-critical records, documents and blueprints for maintenance assets as well as all associated documentation relating to all production equipment.
  • Promote and sustain a maintenance culture focused on continuous improvement, employee engagement, positive morale, and high levels of internal customer service.
  • Supervise the activities of the maintenance department employees to assure that each is properly instructed in the performance of their work and the quantity and quality of work.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Mechanical & Electrical background preferred
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
  • Machine Shop experience preferred

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledgeable of various types of equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, industrial electricity and mechanical control systems.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and act upon blueprints, schematics, and printed instructions.
  • Self-motivated and skilled in the following: organization, leadership, communication (written and verbal) and planning and root cause analysis.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

WORK ENVRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, supplier and all levels of corporate and company personal.
  • Works closely with operations staff and interacts with all levels of Company employees.
  • Serves as a point of contact for outside contacts as appropriate.
