Performance Optimization Managers often work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, product development, and IT. They gather data from various sources, analyze performance metrics, and facilitate workshops or meetings to identify bottlenecks and propose actionable solutions. Effective collaboration requires strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations that align with organizational goals. We're seeking an organized, relationship-driven professional who thrives on coordination, follow-through, and technical problem solving.

  • Own technical performance: triage issues raised by clients, facility staff, commissioning engineers, M&V engineers, or technicians; coordinate the right internal and external resources; and drive each item to closure with clear communication along the way.
  • Partner with CEG's M&V and commissioning engineers, translating their technical findings into client-facing updates and using their analysis to prioritize maintenance, corrective action, and optimization work.
  • Lead the annual reporting cycle from a project-management and client-relationship standpointcoordinating inputs, keeping deliverables on schedule, and presenting results to the customer.
  • Manage performance period budgets, vendor invoicing, and financial tracking, including OM&R cost control in coordination with contract administration.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements under state/federal ESPC contract terms, and applicable agency-specific provisions throughout the guarantee term.
  • Coordinate response to service requests, scope changes, and differing conditions, drafting or routing the technical and contractual documentation needed to support them.
  • Identify renewal, expansion, and additional-ECM opportunities surfaced during the performance period, and partner with the the development and business development teams to pursue them.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, construction management, a STEM field, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in account or client management, facilities/O&M management, construction or project management, energy performance contracting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors or service vendors and holding them accountable to scope, schedule, and service levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, clients, or deliverables and drive issues to resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear client-facing updates.

Successful Candidates Possess

  • Familiarity with ESPC/UESC delivery models and federal energy contracting under state/federal contracts.
  • A working understanding of building mechanical, electrical, and controls systemsenough to manage O&M technicians and vendors and partner effectively with M&V/commissioning engineers.
  • A customer-first, ownership mindset with strong follow-through and a bias toward solving problems.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with diverse skill sets.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CEM (Certified Energy Manager), or facilities management credentials are a plus.
