Position Summary
The Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, is responsible for leading a team of manufacturing engineers in developing the processes, technologies, and capabilities required to successfully launch innovative aerospace products into production. This role provides both technical and people leadership, ensuring products transition efficiently from New Product Development (NPD) to scalable manufacturing while meeting customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery.
As our Aerospace Business continues to grow, this leader will help shape our manufacturing strategy by developing engineering talent, expanding manufacturing capabilities, and championing continuous improvement. Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and key suppliers, the Manager will drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), accelerate product commercialization, and implement manufacturing solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
We are seeking a hands-on leader who thrives on solving complex manufacturing challenges, embraces continuous improvement, and inspires others through collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team through mentoring, performance management, and individual development planning.
  • Build a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while developing the capabilities needed to support future business growth.
  • Establish team priorities, allocate resources, and remove barriers to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives and new product launches.

Manufacturing & New Product Introduction
  • Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, tooling, automation, and equipment that enable successful product launches.
  • Partner with Product Development to optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, quality, cost, and production readiness.
  • Develop manufacturing technology roadmaps aligned with product and business strategies.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies that improve capability, scalability, and operational performance.

Operational Excellence
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives that improve process capability, reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Lead manufacturing cost improvement initiatives, make-versus-buy decisions, and implementation of best practices across manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations to establish robust manufacturing controls and ensure successful production readiness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and suppliers to successfully industrialize new products.
  • Build trusted partnerships across the organization to solve complex challenges, remove obstacles, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or related discipline).
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership or manufacturing engineering management experience.
  • Strong leadership, project management, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in advanced or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading manufacturing process development for new product introduction (NPI) and production scale-up.
  • Experience supporting global manufacturing operations.

Technical Experience
  • Experience with several of the following manufacturing technologies is preferred: welding, leak testing, plastic molding, plating, heat treating, precision electromechanical assembly, automation, manufacturing process validation, and continuous improvement.

Compensation: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 annual base salary based experience
