Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Nutritionist / Performance Dietitian to provide services at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, NM.
Position Highlights

Scope of Work
The Nutritionist will serve as a subject matter expert in performance nutrition, supporting academy leadership, PT departments, instructors, and trainees.
  • Follow predetermined nutrition lesson plans and educational modules or use professional expertise to develop new content and curriculum in response to identified needs or gaps.
  • Lead nutrition introduction sessions, performance nutrition and chow hall eating briefings, and supplement safety education.
  • Provide daily guidance on body composition optimization, injury recovery with nutrition, and nutrition on a budget.
  • Deliver Early Recognition Program (ERP) briefings and support nutrition education for injury recovery and high-risk trainees.
  • Conduct daily observations and assessments of nutrition practices within the
  • Utilize InBody or similar protocols for body composition and metabolic testing, interpret results, and provide individualized, evidence-based recommendations
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on medical nutrition therapy for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, blood sugar management (pre-diabetes, diabetes), disordered eating, and gastrointestinal issues
  • Assist in review lab work in conjunction with consultations and provide actionable, evidence-base recommendations
  • Assist in developing nutrition education modules for instructor qualification courses in coordination with the appropriate CBP staff.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining nutrition education resources
  • Coordinate with the Exercise Physiologist and appropriate CBP staff to create integrated performance and recovery plans.
  • Collect and analyze nutrition and performance data to support evidence-based curriculum adjustments and CBP leadership decision-making.
  • Track and report trends in nutrition-related health, performance, and injury
  • Promote nutrition, health, fitness, and safety initiatives throughout the academy consistent with CBP approved standards.
  • Advise CBP program officials and academy trainees on nutrition facility design, food, snack, and hydration
  • Integrate emerging nutrition technologies and best practices into CBP workforce health strategies as directed by CBP program officials.
  • Communicate complex nutrition concepts in an accessible and actionable manner to CBP staff and trainees.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (master's preferred).
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in tactical, military, law enforcement, or high-risk occupational training environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based nutrition, injury prevention, and performance
  • Strong communication and instructional skills, and ability to operate independently within multidisciplinary teams, are required for both roles.
