Job description

We're looking for a Performance Consultant who can partner with business and learning leaders to diagnose performance challenges, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions that improve business outcomes.
In this role, you'll work closely with Learning Business Partners, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to determine whether training, process, tool, communication, or other performance interventions will best address the need. The ideal candidate brings strong consulting, analysis, facilitation, stakeholder management, and business writing skills, with the ability to translate complex challenges into clear, measurable recommendations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Conduct performance, task, and learner needs analyses to understand business challenges, performance gaps, audience needs, and desired outcomes.
  • Identify root causes of performance issues, including gaps related to knowledge, skill, process, tools, environment, expectations, incentives, or communication.
  • Determine when training is the appropriate solution and when non-training interventions may better address the business need.
  • Recommend performance-based solutions aligned to business priorities, desired outcomes, success measures, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Partner with Learning Business Partners, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and business leaders to scope initiatives and shape practical recommendations.
  • Create clear documentation, summaries, and recommendations that support stakeholder decisions and solution design.
  • Support evaluation planning by defining success measures and helping assess solution effectiveness and business impact.

Experience
  • Preferred bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in learning and development, organizational development, business, human resources, instructional design, performance improvement, or a related field.
  • Experience in performance consulting, needs assessment, root cause analysis, learning strategy, organizational development, performance improvement, or a related learning and development function.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business or performance challenges and recommend practical, measurable solutions.
  • Experience facilitating discovery conversations, asking effective questions, synthesizing findings, and influencing stakeholders.
  • Experience documenting findings, recommendations, requirements, success measures, assumptions, risks, and dependencies in a clear and concise format.
