Summary

Lead the heart of our feed operations as a Feed Mill Manager, where your leadership directly impacts production excellence and customer success. In this role, you'll oversee feed manufacturing and delivery operations, ensuring products are produced efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. By driving operational performance and on-time service, you'll help build strong customer trust while keeping the feed mill running smoothly and effectively every day.

The salary range for this position is $89,000- $133,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

In addition to the base salary, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

       Oversee the feed production from receiving through field placement service.

       Ensure that the feed produced meets nutritional guidelines and that feed is inventoried and delivered as scheduled.

       Oversee the maintenance and housekeeping of the feedmill with a preventative maintenance program.

       Develop operating schedules, work and downtime schedule and conduct parts inventory.

       May negotiate litter contracts.

       Compile and analyze production reports. Interprets and communicates statistical findings to management team members.

       Establish goals, project plans and provide budget administration.

       Compile and follow company requirements regarding biosecurity, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies always.

       Communicate daily with customers and inter-company personnel.

       Maintain a safe working environment.

Minimum Education and Experience

       High School or equivalent.

       3 - 5 years' experience.

       Strong reading, math, writing, communication (oral and written), and analytical skills with a statistical background.

Preferred Education and Experience

       Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or related field.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

       Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, feed mills, chicken houses and processing plants.

       Exposed to seasonal weather conditions as well as significant amounts of airborne dust, feathers.

When in a plant environment:

       Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

       May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

       May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

       May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

       May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facility.

       Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

       Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the production houses.

       Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing, pulling and lifting up to 75 lbs.

       Must be able to climb to a height of 30' as well as significant amount of bending, lifting and stooping.
