Pera Retirement information

How does PERA work when you retire?

When you retire from a PERA (Public Employees Retirement Association) position, your retirement benefits are calculated based on your years of service, salary history, and the retirement plan's formula. You typically receive monthly payments, which may be adjusted for cost-of-living increases, and can choose options such as survivor benefits or lump-sum payments depending on your plan. Eligibility and benefit amounts are determined by plan rules and your employment history.
