What are per histology jobs?

Per Histology jobs typically refer to positions related to the study of the microscopic structure of tissues, often in a clinical or research laboratory setting. Professionals in these roles, such as histotechnologists or histology technicians, prepare tissue samples for examination by pathologists to help diagnose diseases. Their responsibilities include tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and ensuring the quality of specimens for microscopic analysis. These jobs require attention to detail, knowledge of laboratory equipment, and adherence to safety protocols. Per Histology roles are vital in hospitals, research institutions, and diagnostic labs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a histology technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Histology Technician, you need a solid understanding of biology, laboratory procedures, and tissue processing, typically supported by an associate's degree in histotechnology or a related field. Familiarity with laboratory information systems, microtomes, cryostats, and staining techniques, along with relevant certifications such as HT(ASCP), are essential. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication are critical soft skills in this role.
