Overview

THIS IS A TRAVELING POSITION

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECK

  • Base Wage: $25-$35/hourly
  • Prevailing Wage opportunities (up to $80 hourly)
  • Daily Per diem paid on all non-prevailing wage projects 
    • 1 Week trip- $25.00 per diem daily
    • 2 Week trip- $40.00 per diem daily
  • Crew lodging paid for by FSG
  • Employees must be willing to travel by airline
  • Work/Travel Schedule: Traveling requirements for up to 10 days (2 paid travel days + 8 working days) and 4 days off.
  • Rotation of work shift is possible, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift depending on the requirements of the current scheduled project. Most of the work will be on the 1st or 2nd shift work schedule. 3rd shift is rare but could be required at times.

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will support crews with electrical troubleshooting, installations, and lighting controls. The ideal candidate work with crews supporting installations, mentor and develop Apprentice Electricians as well as promote the core values of FSG through excellent customer service and assuring the safety of all work.

Responsibilities
  • Support crew with installations including lighting retrofits, new fixture installations, sensor installations, site clean-up.
  • Support modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications, safety codes and local electrical codes.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker, wiring, commissioning, and troubleshooting electrical/lighting.
  • Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Meets company attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.
  • Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree
  • Current Electrician's License required.
  • OSHA-30 preferred
  • Three to five years' experience in the field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to multitask while staying organized
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Positive customer service skills
  • Experience in lighting is a plus!
