Job description


Civil Field Technician 1 

·        Standard PPE for field/plant work (hardhat, steal toe shoes/boots, safety glasses, high visibility safety vest and or shirt and ear plugs). All PPE should be provided by the hiring agency.

·        This position requires system wide travel to various facilities on a weekly basis. 

·        Thusly, the hiring agency will be required to rent a Ford F150 4x4 or similar vehicle for their Worker. The monthly rental will be reviewed and approved by me prior to the agency signing the rental contract. Monthly rental of the vehicle and fuel cost will be billed to Company at cost with no additional markup and or processing fees. 

·        The hiring agency will set a daily per-diem rate included in the ST billing rate for their Worker for meals and lodging.  

·        This position will serve as a supplemental worker to the CFS - Drilling Services organization in support of various environmental / geotechnical drilling projects, expressly for the maintenance and installation of instrumentation linked to groundwater and surface water monitoring. Specific instrumentation required to maintain will include but not limited to, Troll 500 and 400 Pressure Transducers, In-Situ VuLinks, Solar Panels, Dataloggers, Automated Slope Inclinometers, various Campbell Scientific, Geokon, and YSI/Xylem Equipment, etc.

·        This position is a field position and interested candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, year-round, and in inclement weather. Work will mainly involve the development, maintenance and installation of groundwater and surface water sampling instrumentation to support CCR and Dam Safety projects, and the oversight of contractors for the same.

·        This position will require a minimum 10-hour day, 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday), some weekends and multiple days of travel throughout the southeastern United States on a weekly basis. High mechanical aptitude and good troubleshooting skills are a must for this position. Candidates with a 4-year degree in chemistry, environmental biology, physical science, or similar concentration are desired
