Job Overview JP Tank is seeking dependable Concrete Construction Laborers to join our field operations team.
This position involves hands-on work building large reinforced concrete structures such as agricultural tanks, waste storage systems, and other infrastructure projects.
Employees work outdoors in a physically demanding environment and travel to job sites as required.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, working as part of a crew, and contributing to large construction projects.
Pay Structure
Pay is based on experience level:
- Entry-Level Laborer:$23 – $25 per hour
- Experienced Laborer:$25 – $29 per hour
- Key Employee / Lead Laborer:$30 – $35 per hour
A key employee is a highly experienced concrete worker who provides leadership on the crew but may not be a foreman. Weekly overtime opportunities are common.
Travel & Work Schedule
Our projects vary in location and travel requirements.
Local Projects
Approximately 60% of our work is within driving distance of our shop in Rosendale, WI.
Employees meet at the shop and travel to job sites in company vehicles each day.
Semi-Local Projects
For jobs more than 1.5 hours from the shop, employees may stay in hotels during the work week (typically Monday through Friday).
Long-Distance Projects
For projects several hours away or out of state, employees may stay out of town for up to 2–3 weeks at a time before returning home.
Transportation is provided using company vehicles.
Per Diem
Employees receive a $50 per day per diem for nights spent out of town.
Company-Paid Hotel Arrangements
For in-state projects employees may share hotel rooms.
For longer distance projects employees typically have their own rooms.
Work Schedule
Typical start time: 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM
Typical weekly hours: 60+ hours per week
Work days: Monday through Friday
Occasional Saturdays may be required, especially during extended out-of-town projects.
Night shifts are very rare but early morning concrete pours may occur.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction Execution: Assist with construction of reinforced concrete structures including tanks, walls, and foundations. Tasks include: 

    • Setting and stripping concrete forms

    • Placing and tying reinforcing steel (rebar)

    • Pouring and finishing concrete

    • Installing waterstop and embedded items

    • General jobsite labor and material handling

  • Site Operations: 

    • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment

    • Operate power tools and construction equipment safely

    • Assist with concrete pours and formwork installation

    • Maintain clean and organized job sites

  • Team Support: 

    • Work closely with foremen and experienced crew members

    • Follow instructions from supervisors

    • Support other team members to complete daily work tasks

    • Assist in mentoring less experienced workers when applicable

  • Safety Compliance: 

    • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements

    • Participate in daily safety meetings

    • Work safely around heavy equipment and construction hazards

    • Maintain safe work areas at all times

Physical Requirements
  • Concrete construction is physically demanding.

  • Employees must be able to:

    • Lift up to 75 pounds regularly

    • Work long hours in outdoor conditions

    • Climb ladders and work at heights

    • Work in extreme weather conditions

    • Work safely around heavy equipment and construction machinery

    • Perform physically demanding labor throughout the day

Preferred Experience
  • The following experience is helpful but not required:

    • Concrete construction experience

    • Experience setting forms

    • Rebar installation and tying

    • Concrete finishing

    • Operating equipment such as: Skid loaders, Telehandlers, General construction equipment

    • Experience using power tools and concrete tools

    • Applicants should indicate years of concrete construction experience.

Safety Requirements
  • Applicants must:

    • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

    • Be willing to follow all PPE and safety requirements

    • Maintain a safe working attitude on job sites

    • Driver & Transportation

    • A valid driver’s license is helpful but not required.

    • CDL licenses are highly valued.
