Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and detailed evaluations to develop personalized therapy strategies tailored to each client’s needs.
• Administer evidence-based therapeutic interventions to diverse populations, including individuals, couples, and families, utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation and client records in compliance with ethical standards and legal regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of care provided, participating in team meetings and case reviews.
• Engage in continuous professional development through workshops and training sessions to remain abreast of the latest mental health research and methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on individuals and families who face barriers to mental health care. Many of our clients represent marginalized communities in Hartford, including individuals experiencing trauma, substance use disorders, and various mental health issues. Your role as an LPC will be pivotal in offering these clients the support they need to navigate their challenges and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut is essential.
• A minimum of two years of counseling experience, ideally in a clinical or community health setting.
• A robust understanding of legal and ethical standards governing professional practice.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) software and relevant technologies is necessary to effectively manage client documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization or significant experience in family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance use treatment is highly preferred.
• Experience working within a community health clinic is a plus, as it requires adaptability and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by underserved populations.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 70,000 - 90,000 per year, depending on your experience and caseload capacity. In addition to a generous salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:
