Description
Hazel Findlay is looking for a Cook to join our Work Family in our Dietary Department. Experience preferred but not required. This position is:
  • Pat-time position - about 20 hours per week
  • Weekends and some holidays required
  • Typical shift is 9:00 am to 3:30 pm

Some job duties include:
  • Serve meals to residents and guests in dining room
  • Prepare menu items utilizing recipes
  • Supervise meal service and ensure proper amounts of foods are distributed
  • Obtain, monitor, and record temperatures of hot and cold foods
  • Practice safe food handling
  • Accommodate resident and guest food requests

Requirements
Education - High school graduate or GED is preferred.
Experience - Six months healthcare food service preferred.
Must be able to read, write, and spell English and do basic math.
Must adhere to department dress code.
Ability to verbally communicate with residents, family, the public, and other members of staff in English.
Honest, dependable, pleasant, able to accept constructive criticism.
Be able to safely perform the essential job functions without harm to self or others with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must adhere to privacy and security for residents and employees according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.
